Safety Regulations

Lampshade materials should be tested for fire resistance to comply with BS EN 60598-1-2008, the British Standard for Luminaries. If you make lampshades with our PVC based products, they will be fire resistant because our PVC has been tested with the Lighting Association Laboratories and has passed the glow wire test. Fabrics, Textiles or Paper that is laminated to our PVC will become fire resistant.

Alternatives to PVC
We understand and respect the need for environmentally friendly materials, so we offer an option, BOARD
Made from 100% elemental chlorine free wood pulps source from carefully managed and renewed forests our Board is an environmentally friendly material. However, the board is NOT Fire Resistant and will not pass the glow wire test. To get round this you can treat / apply a fireproof spray for fire protection
