EURO to US Lampshade Reducer Ring Pair 32mm (1 1/4") – ShadeCore®

Our premium ShadeCore® threaded screw-on attachments allow a lampshade with a standard 40 mm Euro fitting to be securely fitted to a 34 mm (1 3/8"inch) diameter US lamp holder. They offer a simple solution for combining European-style lampshades with compatible American lamp bases without permanently altering the shade or its frame.

The reducer rings secure the lampshade from both sides. The lower ring screws onto the lamp holder and creates a supportive lip for the Euro fitting to rest on. Once the lampshade is in position, the second ring screws on above it, gently gripping the fitting and holding the shade firmly in place. This helps keep the lampshade stable, secure and correctly aligned.

How do I use a Converter?

1. Start by removing the bulb, and screwing the first ring onto the lamp holder to the desired height, with the lip facing up
2. Place the lampshade over the lamp holder so it sits on the lip. Please note at this stage the lampshade will not be secure, so be sure to hold this in place.
3. With the lip facing down, screw the second ring onto the lamp holder, tightening until the lampshade is secure and does not move.

Please check before ordering that your lampshade has a 40 mm Euro fitting and your lamp holder has a compatible 34 mm (1 3/8" inch) threaded fitting.

There are two standard sizes for Harp systems, 1/4" and 3/8" our Converting Washers will fit them both.
Below is a conversion chart with imperial and metric measurements.

Our system works with these sizes, but If the Harp stem is bigger, you can make the hole in the washer bigger to fit.
