The idea behind the acute angle is to get the sharpest point of the blade onto the surface to be cut, when cutting from a typical height on a table. During the manufacturing process, the following factors are perfected to ensure a good balance between sharpness and long life: Hardness Sharpening Angles Tapered Dimensions Coarseness of whetstone Speed of grinding The blade is 0.38mm thick and has 7 snap segments.
