Job description
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our company as a CNC Machine Operative, working as part of our friendly production team. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control, the method for controlling the cutting tool using software with a personal computer.
We are looking for a Production Operator with CNC Operational experience who has operated Zund or Blackman & White cutting machines or similar use of digital cutting systems or plotters. Someone who has worked with similar machines in a large-format printing environment will also be considered.
The role involves setting up, programming and operating the CAD Cutter machine according to work-order specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Review the schedule of jobs and plan the work process.
- Operate the machine to cut custom-shaped material products.
- Setting and managing jobs from start to finish.
- Cutting/creasing of printed and plain materials.
- Nest shapes within materials for optimum yields.
- Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on the cutter machines, including cleaning, changing blades, and vacuum belts.
- Follow and comply with all work safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Material handling.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be physically fit as some lifting is required.
- Ability to use CAD Cutting Software.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Must have good attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good numeracy and literacy.
Job Type: Full-time (38-hour week)
Salary: £23,000 per annum
