Our translucent polypropylene lampshade diffuser is a simple and effective way to give your finished lampshade a clean, professional appearance while creating a softer and more comfortable light.

The polypropylene material allows light to pass through and gently diffuses it across the room. Please note that translucent does not mean transparent: the material is not clear or see-through. Instead, it softens the brightness of the bulb and helps reduce harsh glare while still allowing plenty of light to shine through.

A diffuser is especially useful for pendant lampshades fitted to high ceilings, stairwells, hallways or any position where the underside of the shade can easily be seen. By covering the open bottom of the lampshade, it helps conceal the bulb, lamp holder and internal fittings. This draws attention away from the inside of the shade and back towards the colour, pattern and design of the lampshade itself.

The diffuser can also help give handmade and professionally produced lampshades a neater, more refined finish. Its understated translucent appearance works with a wide variety of lampshade styles, fabrics and interior colour schemes without distracting from the overall design.

How to Use a Lampshade Diffuser

Installation is quick and straightforward. The diffuser simply sits on the bottom ring inside the lampshade, so no specialist tools or complicated assembly are required. It can also be removed easily when access to the bulb is needed.

For the best fit, please check the diffuser dimensions against the internal diameter and bottom ring of your lampshade before ordering. The lampshade, frame, light fitting and bulb are not included unless otherwise stated.
