30cm Empire Lampshade Making Kit (Duplex Fitting)

Design a lampshade to match your upholstery, curtains, wallpaper or any room theme. Our kit makes you a professional 30cm Empire Lampshade from the covering of your choice, that can be used as a Pendant (ceiling), or with a suitable table lamp. They will connect with UK and European Lampholders or Pendant Fittings and USA Harp & Finial fittings using a Spider Fitting or Shade Carrier.

  


How to make them
Easy to use, laminate your covering to the self-adhesive lampshade panel and follow the step by step instructions.

What type of lamp holders and fittings will fit this lampshade?
The Frame is manufactured with a Duplex Shade Ring (110mm in diameter) 
You need to purchase a Shade Carrier to connect with UK and Euro Lampholders.
The Frame can also be used with Harp & Finial Systems predominately used in the USA by using a Duplex Converting Kit.

Shade Carriers & Spider Fittings
The Shade Carrier is regarded as the professional way to connect lampshades to lamp holders.
Lampshades that use this system have many advantages over fixed, fitted frames.

• The Lampshade lifts off the carrier with ease
• No need to touch the lamp holder to dust or change the bulb.
• The height between the Lampshade and Lampbase can be changed
•  Lampshade can be used as a Pendant using a Spider fitting
• Can be used with a Harp & Finial system using a converter  

We recommend that you use a 6" Shade Carrier with this Kit

Bulb Advice
We recommend the use of low energy bulbs with your lampshades. They use less energy and are cool to the touch, avoiding the problem of scorching shades and ceilings.

Testing
Our lampshade materials have been tested and passed the glow wire test carried out by the Lighting Association. Contact us for test certificates.


IMPORTANT NOTES
When the lampshade is assembled, you will need a shade carrier or spider fitting to connect to your lamp-holder.

Use a 6" Shade Carrier to connect to your lamp base.

PENDANT CEILING USE - Connect with a Spider Fitting
Use a standard Spider fitting to connect the lampshade to the lamp holder on the ceiling rose.

Digital Printed Textile     
Using your artwork or illustration, we provide you with a printed textile for your Lampshade Making Kit. Alternatively, you can pick a colour from our Pantone chart for us to print. Your design will be printed on to fabric and supplied with your lampshade making kit
Your artwork needs to be created 980mm wide x 380mm high. This size includes bleed and the allowance for the rolled edge and seam.
