12.5cm Duplex Top Circular Lampshade Ring – ShadeCore®

Our 12.5cm Duplex rings are a versatile and practical choice for a wide range of lampshade designs. They are commonly used in tapered styles, including Conical and Empire shades, as well as circular Drum shades.

Designed to work with different types of lighting, a Duplex lampshade can be paired with a Shade Carrier for table and floor lamps or used with a Spider fitting for pendant lights. This flexible system allows the lampshade to be lifted off the fitting without dismantling the lamp, making it easy to remove for cleaning or swap for a different shade whenever you would like to refresh your décor.

Each Duplex unit consists of two rings. The larger upper ring forms and supports the top diameter of the lampshade, while the smaller 110mm lower ring sits securely on top of the chosen Shade Carrier or Spider fitting. Together, the two rings provide a stable internal framework while retaining the convenience and versatility for which Duplex fittings are known.

What type of lampshade can you make with this ring set?

This ring set is designed for creating drum or cylindrical lampshades where the Lampshade lifts off the carrier with ease, and there is no need to touch the lamp holder to dust or change the bulb.

They will connect with UK and European Lampholders or Pendant Fittings and USA Harp & Finial fittings using a Spider Fitting or Shade Carrier.
You can use it with table lamps, floor lamps, pendant lights, and other types of interior lighting.

Lampholder Compatibility

The frame fits European lamp holders and includes a fitted reducer/converter adapter for UK lamp holders.

This allows the frame to work with multiple common fitting types used in lampshade making.

• B22 Bayonet Cap (UK) – adaptor fitted
• E14 Edison Screw (EU) – adaptor fitted
• E27 Edison Screw (EU) – adaptor removed
• E26 Edison Screw (US) – adaptor removed

For use with USA harp & finial fittings, converting washers can be added with the supplied adaptor system.
